Seafood Haven: The Pearl Room

The Pearl Room is located on 3rd Avenue and is rated one of the best seafood restaurants in Bay Ridge. With both indoor and outdoor seating, The Pearl Room offers guests the chance to mingle with others or dine intimately with their party guests.  This upscale restaurant has more than friendly wait staff and a chef that likes to make personal visits to the table to chat with his customers about their food and experience. The outdoor dining garden is perfect on a warm summer night to enjoy a glass of wine and some expertly prepared appetizers.
In business since 1997, The Pearl Room offers guests more than just a great dining experience. Some special features include a fireplace setting, raw bar, and private party rooms. Reservations are a must because the restaurant fills up quick!

But forget all about the fancy decor and let’s get down to business…food! The Pearl Room boats a menu fit for a seafood lover. Some of the most recommended dishes are the pan seared scallops, Maryland Style Crab cakes, and the black pepper crusted seared tuna….and those are just the appetizers! The Pearl Room has a great selection of soups, salads, and entrees which are all prepared by Chef Anthony Rinaldi.
Once done with your meal the Pearl Room has a nice bar area that becomes fun and energetic at night. With an older crowd comes a more sophisticated experience. Getting away from the young “20 some-thing’s” that tend to invade 3rd avenue every weekend makes The Pearl Room the perfect spot to take your wife or husband for a special night out or a chance to finally get together with some friends. It doesn’t hurt that the food and after dining experience is great too!

Romantic Italian Dining: Ponte Vecchio

When thinking of Brooklyn cuisine of course you think Italian, and right fully so because Brooklyn prides itself on the authentic quality of their Italian cooking. No stranger to this notion is Bay Ridge’s very own Ponte Vecchio.
Located on 8810 4th Avenue, this neighborhood favorite has been showing patrons what traditional Italian cooking is all about. Quaint and romantic with Italian music playing softly in the background, guests enjoy an intimate meal amidst the busy streets of Brooklyn.  This family style restaurant boasts a full bar with a very tasteful wine selection. The Ponte Vecchio plate proportions are meant for those who like to eat. You do not go to Ponte Vecchio for a meal, you go for a feast. Course after course is nothing but perfectly cooked Italian cuisine. Known for their calamari, but guests have an endless choice of appetizers to choose from. Baked clams like you have never tasted to fresh mozzarella and tomatoes all I can say is make sure you leave some room for your main course! Like you could have guest this veteran Bay Ridge restaurant can make a dish of pasta that tastes like you in Italy but if you’re a regular guest of Ponte Vecchio, you know their specialty is their Chilean Sea Bass.
Cooked to perfection with right accompanying glass of wine, this meal is the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion. When choosing to dine in Bay Ridge, Ponte Vecchio is the place to bring that special someone or a way to bring the whole family together for joyous occasion!

Sushi Hot Spot: Fushimi

Looking for the all around dining experience of cocktails, dinner, and dancing? Fushimi in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is the place to be! This restaurant lounge has been serving lunch and dinner in a way Bay Ridge residents aren’t use to. This modern and very trendy sushi restaurant has been Zagat rated to be on caliber with Manhattan cuisine and nightlife. This restaurant is a great place to meet up with friends for cocktails. Fushimi’s bar has a long list of specialty drinks. The drinks can go down easy so be prepared for a nice bill at the end of your meal. The sangria is delicious but be aware that a pitcher to the table can cost you $40! The main meals are deliciously prepared. All your traditional Japanese cuisine is offered on the menu but you can also find more American plates like steak entrees and organic chicken. But who cares about the dishes you can get at any other restaurant? You go to Fushimi for their tasty and creative sushi. The menu has one full page devoted to sushi rolls and specialty rolls that are made to order and you can watch being prepared if you are sitting by the sushi bar! My personal favorites are the shrimp tempura roll and the King Crab roll is out of this world.

Each and every time you come to Fushimi the plating of the sushi get more and more creative. The place is fun and interactive and is constantly energetic, almost as if the restaurant works to the beat of the house music that is played constantly, which works out well for the restaurant because after 10 the front room is turned into a bar/night club where you can venture off to finish your night out, after having first sampled the dessert sushi of course! Fushimi knows off to treat their patrons too! During the summertime all drinks are half off Mondays and Wednesdays and on Thursday nights after 10 is Ladies Night, ladies drinks are only $1! When looking for a great night out with friends don’t let the crowd of people outside of Fushimi fool you, the restaurant is large with plenty of seating and a nice sized bar and dance area right up front to end your night!.
